3 Things You Should Do to Maximize Your Small Social Media Following

Whether you sell a product or a service, if your business is in a season of growth it is beneficial to have a presence on social media.  Don’t get mad and click away.  There is good news.

The good news is:

You do NOT have to go viral with each post to successfully connect with your ideal client.

You do NOT have to be the most popular account in your niche to successfully connect with your ideal client.

You do NOT have to follow every trend or be on every platform to successfully connect with your ideal client.

Ask yourself - Do you need 150,000 new clients in the next 30 days?  No?  Good!  Then no pressure to grow your social media accounts at alarming rates either.

Shift your focus from being “popular” on social media to using social media as a tool to reach your ideal clients.  Your business will begin to profit from social media client conversions when you prioritize reaching a few quality ideal customers instead of a large broad audience.

3 things to remember:

  1. Create content focused on your ideal customer by identifying a problem they have and you can solve.

  2. Be intentional with your content because your window of opportunity to win an ideal client's attention is short.

  3. Truly engage with your current audience through conversations in post comments or direct messages.  Do this in a way that allows you to develop genuine relationships with your followers

By doing these 3 things, you increase the likelihood of converting followers into clients.  It takes time to cultivate rapport with potential clients, but as your ideal customer continues to follow you, their confidence in your services will soon become worth their investment.

At the end of the day it is better to have 50 followers truly interested in your services than 500,000 followers who like your account because you are a quirky dancer.  Never let the numbers define your idea of a successful business platform on social media.
